To start to learn to drive you must Be 17 years old Hold a provisional licence.
If you are not yet 17 You have to apply for provisional licence. Pick up a D1 form from you local post office . Complete the form,enclose the fee, passport or birth certificate and passport sized photograph. This can be done 3 months before your 17th birthday. So you are all ready for the big day.
How many Lessons will you need As a guideline the Driving Standards Agency research states 45 hours on average with a qualified driving instructor and private practice of 22 hours .This will vary from student to student eg; how many lessons per week , how much private practice , how quick you pick up new skills and last but not least how keen are you.
